Ed Pennington graduated from a Military High School and then attended the University of Arizona where he received his BS degree. After graduating he managed a retail men's clothing store until one day he and his high school best friend were asked to play guitars and sing at a local night club. Well, Ed quickly decided to quit the long hours of managing the clothing store and work full time as a musician. He and his buddy "Kim" found themselves playing music all around the country and opening for acts such as "The Ink Spots", Little Anthony and The Imperials" and "The Stories" just to name a few. After approximately 5 years of the music business Ed decided to open an athletic footwear business know as "The Athlete's Foot" and eventually open retail stores in Ohio, Arizona and Texas. The retail business led him to exporting large quantities of Nike, Reebok, Converse and Addidas shoes into Mexico and South America This business also led Ed to Arizona where he got his first taste of the Real Estate business by joining up with his partner Dave Fraker in the building/development business in Tucson. Ed and Dave were quite successful builders and eventually helped develop a 356 acre parcel of vacant land against the Santa Catalina Mountains in Tucson. Ed spent almost 10 years developing and building in that project where he still returns today to his friends that he sold beautiful lots to in "Finisterra". When that project was completed, and wanting to be closer to his mother who was in failing health, Ed moved back East where he purchased a Chevrolet dealership and soon added Mitisubishi to the mix. After successfully turning the dealership around he became partners with a local Cadillac Oldsmobile dealer and put Chevrolet, Cadillac and Oldsmobile under one roof. Ed eventually sold his share to his partner and was asked to become the CEO of a local children's home that took care of abused and neglected children who were wards of the state. Not having children of his own or a background in "social work" Ed found this job to be quite the challenge but once again he succeeded in taking care of over 400 children with a lot help from his staff. Ed remembers the sad stories the children had to tell but is happy that many of the children in their care had successful outcomes and are now important people in society who made it through the tragedy of their childhood. Ed had an opportunity to move back to Arizona and took the leap and got into the Real Estate business with his now friend Roy Grimm who had a successful Buyer Broker's real estate business in Sedona. Ed purchased a house from Roy, did a major remodel and turned it into one of the most beautiful properties in Sedona. Roy and Ed were a great fit where they enjoyed the success of being the number 1 Buyer's Agents in Sedona for the past 8 years. Ed has been a top producer in Sedona for the past eight years and looks forward to providing excellent service and professionalism to his clients, whether they are purchasing their dream home in Sedona or have the desire to sell their home. |
